Latinos Unidos at North High

A student-led club at Worcester North High School

Latinos Unidos. Culture, college, and community, led by students.

We educate Latinx students about where they come from, open doors to college and careers, teach financial literacy, and bring opportunities straight to the students who need them most.

About the club

Four friends saw a gap at North High, and decided to close it.

Latinos Unidos is a student-led organization at Worcester North High School. We noticed a gap within the Latinx side of North, and we wanted to be part of the reason it closed.

We started as a cultural awareness club and a fun afterschool activity, then added college outreach with local universities and financial literacy with local businesses.

Today our mission is to educate Latinx students of every age about where they come from, their history, and their path to college, while bringing opportunities straight to students who may not know how to create their own.

This site is proof of that work, and of the fact that we are much more than a club.

Initiative & Mission

Opportunity should reach every student, not only the ones who know where to look.

Our work is built on culture, education, and access: three things every Latinx student at North High deserves.

01 — Purpose

Our Mission

To educate Latinx students of every age about where they come from and their history, prepare them for college and careers, and bring real opportunities directly to them.

02 — Horizon

Our Vision

A North High where every Latinx student knows their history, sees a future they can reach, and has a community behind them while they get there.

03 — Principles

What We Stand For

Culture, capability, and community. As Latinos, we are just as capable as anyone, and we build spaces that prove it.

CultureAccessLeadershipServiceBelongingAmbition

Our Belief

We inspire by showing what is possible.

When opportunities come straight to students, they discover futures they never knew they wanted.

What We Do

Four ways Latinos Unidos shows up for students.

Culture, college and careers, financial literacy, and community service, run by students for students.

Cultural Connection

We make connecting with fellow Latinx students an open experience through cultural games, traditional cooking, music, and conversations about where we all come from.

College & Career Readiness

We bring college and career opportunities straight to students, working with Worcester State University, Quinsigamond Community College, and local organizations.

Financial Literacy

Partnering with local businesses and banks like M&T Bank, we show students what futures in banking, business, and real world trades can look like.

Community Service

We give back with El Buen Samaritano, a local Latino-led food bank, and Friendly House, with many more community initiatives planned.

Our Impact

The pillars behind everything we run.

Every meeting, workshop, and collaboration ties back to one of these four commitments.

What People Say

Voices from students, staff, and partners.

These placeholder quotes show the kind of feedback we collect from members and collaborators as the club grows.

Latinos Unidos gave me a place where my culture is something to celebrate, not explain. I found friends, and I found people who push me to keep going.

The college session helped me understand applications, financial aid, and what campus life is actually like. I left with a plan.

This club is proof that young people can build something real. The leadership team runs it like an organization, not an afterschool activity.

The financial literacy workshop was the first time anyone explained credit and saving in a way that made sense to me.

Student Member

North High Senior

Volunteering with Latinos Unidos showed me how much a group of students can do for the neighborhood they grew up in.
